Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
Hidden Signal Advisory ("we," "us") is an independent consulting practice. This policy explains what information AskHiddenSignal.com collects, why, and what control you have over it. We keep data collection deliberately minimal — the same principle we bring to client work.
Who we are
Hidden Signal Advisory is the data controller for information submitted through this site. Questions about this policy or your data can go to privacy@askhiddensignal.com.
What we collect
Information you provide. When you use the contact form, we collect your name and email, and any optional details you choose to add (such as your business name or a message). We do not ask for payment details.
Information collected automatically. Our server and hosting provider keep standard logs — including IP address, browser type, and timestamps — which we use to operate the site, prevent spam and abuse, and maintain security. We do not use this information to profile you or for advertising.
How your inquiry is handled
Contact-form submissions are delivered directly to us by email. If a project involves confidential material, please don't send it through the form — we'll arrange a secure channel.
How we use your information
To reply to you, understand and scope a possible engagement, and follow up on the question you asked. If we begin working together, we'll handle project information under the terms of our engagement (and a mutual NDA where appropriate). We never sell or rent your information, and we don't add you to a marketing list without your explicit opt-in.
AI use
AI is part of what we advise on, and we use established commercial AI tools in our own work — for research, drafting, and analysis. The specific tools we rely on may change over time as the technology evolves.
We're deliberate about what we put into these tools. We favor plans and settings configured so that information we enter is not used to train AI models, and we don't put sensitive or confidential client material into any tool that isn't covered by an appropriate confidentiality or data-handling agreement.
On a paid engagement, we agree in advance on how AI will be used for your project, choose tools appropriate to the sensitivity of the work, and keep a human review step before anything is delivered to you.
Cookies & analytics
This site sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If we enable analytics, we use a privacy-respecting, cookieless approach that reports aggregate, anonymized traffic (page views, referrers) and does not identify individual visitors or follow you across other sites. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests those files from Google's servers; we don't share any form data with them.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with the service providers needed to run the site and respond to you — currently our web host and our email provider — and only so they can perform those functions. We may also disclose information if required by law. We do not sell personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry emails and logs for as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterward in case you follow up, then delete or archive them. Anti-spam and server logs roll off on a short cycle. You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time.
Your choices & rights
You can email privacy@askhiddensignal.com to ask what information we hold about you, request a copy, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw consent. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK under GDPR or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights — we honor reasonable requests regardless of location. We don't charge for this and we won't discriminate against you for asking.
Children
This is a business-to-business site and is not directed to children under 16. We don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change, we'll update this page and revise the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
